Przekaż informację zwrotnąWe had a family celebration and chose Wests because there are good choices on the menu, reasonable prices and a lovely play area for children and their families. Portions are generous, even on the kids menu.
When a meat or technology raffle is being held Wests is pretty well crammed and it can take over an hour for your food to arrive. You might struggle to find a table too unless you arrive early. But having said that, the food when it arrives is generously portioned, hot and tasty. The menu on offer is basic fare but lets face it, this is not fine dining and the prices are still quite reasonable in comparison with competition. Drinks are also priced fairly, though I must report that one pint was sour and had to be replaced. The steaks are good and so are the fish and chips. It can be lively here but generally friendly and fun.
We recently attended the club for a private function in one of their rooms. The room was set up as asked for. The food that was ordered for the function was quite good and the staff very helpful,
We regularly go down as a family for dinner, always quiet enjoyable. Super friendly staff too! The kids room is always a bonus too!
The West s Illawarra is a large modern club with all the greeting s of a well-established venue. Doing dinner at a club on a Friday night for the family is always a risk due to the onslaught of trady, s dinning after a long week on the tools. With this in mind the later option was thought to be better unfortunately we run into the tail end of bingo. Finding a seat to eat at the club left us on the outer within the children’s playroom. So choose your time wisely if you are planning on a conservative dinner meeting so to speakOrdering your meals takes place at the counter with meals being delivered. The idea of going to your local club for dinner was the topic of conversation as most of whom we were dinning with are not regular club attendee’s. The Bingo chants and children playing made for interesting conversation chants of our own. We eventually caved and conversed only with those next to us. The meals arrived and we found several of the meals very small in size. So much so that they needed taking back to the counter to be questioned. ‘That’s how big they are “ stated the chef and that’s that. We proceeded to diet our way through the meals. The flavor of the sword fish, Tai beef salad and home made beef pie were all very nice and the steak was cooked perfectlySo we all agreed that for a club, the Wests Illawarra clubs pricing was equivalent of a medium to higher end restaurant without the ambience and quality that usually comes from the dinning experience that is being sort by the patron. Therefore at the end of the day, smallish yet expensive meals in an open club scene equates to, cheap club dinning for the family at the Wests Illawarra slipping away.
