Surprisingly at the reviews, because the food and the service was very good. we came at 8 and the place was full. Service...was efficient and friendly order literally taken as we decided to get what from the extensive menu. the meals arrived quickly and the request for the departure was also quickly managed. we ordered capitan huh, roti canai and were recommended to get the came heong garnelen. all dishes very tasty, but the garnels a standout. the meals are not cheap, but the portions are large and with good quality and well cooked bun and fish. Roti was fluffy, not too oily and best not sweet.
Very disappointed experience! loud staff tan chef no longer runs the kitchen. the manager/believers behind the counter that collected the money was rude and not fit to be in the food and drink business. he was argumentatiw with the customer, not polite and polite to...customer criticism. we had to start the wat tan hor (kway teow siram) 16.80. that was nothing special. they can get the same dish operated in other Malaysian. dish was a little on the small side and there was missing seafood (only a garn.) for the mains we ordered fish head curry, came heong prawns, baby squid sambal and auberginen salted fish. the fishhead curry, I felt cheated, it was not a fishhead curry. no fishhead in the curry. the menu said fish head curry and they won't get fishhead curry. this is blatant false advertising selling fish head curry on the menu if it is clearly not a fish head in the curry. when we asked the administration/belief to collect the money, he was to defend us and rude. he said that 90% of their customers don't like the bones of the fishhead. I don't see how our care is. we ordered fishhead curry and didn't get it. as for the rest of the dishes it was good, but still a little expensive for the type of restaurants it is (looks more like taking away the lunchtime.) proper Chinese/Malaysian do not calculate the amount found in malacca straits on broadway. I will not go back there. I can have similar or better quality Malaysian food elsewhere. why they go to a shelter for rude service and mediocre food.
The second time I came and I was not disappointed. I think it's excellent to eat. we shared 3 different dishes and 2 desserts, I loved them all. I really felt like I was on my way with all these aromen in asia. I'm going back!
I was recommended to try this Malaysian restaurant by a friend, and therefore we decided to try it. on Saturday night we made a booking on the phone for 6 o'clock. the loading front is not visible from the road, it is located in a square. we brought. a living mud crab we bought in the sydney fish market to cook the restaurant, we chose dry curry aroma and they calculated $35 to cook (it should be $20 after the menu.) we did not know that we had left the restaurant. tastefully, I guess my expectation was another dry curry, but nevertheless their version was just as beautiful, maybe a tad salty for my lust (the other friends also enjoyed it.) we were recommended by the waitress to order some lazy canai to shovel the curry, but unfortunately it came too early before the crooked bowl arrived, it was always red for the other dishes we had: char tau kueh (entre) our favorite dish of the night. beautifully carved radishes dice, great aromen, and came out hot. salted egg prawns beautiful and tasteful, we would order this again. came heong baby squid our 2nd favorite food of the night, a large mix of chili and aromatic sauce, goes great with rice. okra belacan beautiful made, only enough chili (you can ask to make it spicier) ikan bakar (drilled fish) they do not use sting rays, rather flounder. and this is pasty but the fish has been overcooked. we have left a lot behind us and decided not to pack how away (warmed overcooked fish will make it just worse.) hokkien mee another let down court, strengthened by the fact that my friend who is a regular customer spoke with about it. she also agreed that it wasn't what she would normally have. when we left the restaurant, my friend, who is regularly in the restaurant, told us that it was not the usual cook that is chef. that may be why our grilled fish have been overcooked and the hokkien mee isn't what it usually gets? I'm sorry that I obeyed because the grilled fish dish is not cheap, depends on $38. for this price I had expected a discount for our meal (we spent $186.) at least we will try again in any case other dishes, as their menu is quite extensive.
Authentic Malaysian food served with no nonsense flair. It's become our go-to Malaysian food destination. Try the Laksa! Simply amazing.
