El Jardin - Turlock

This place is wonderful the employees are wonderful as well. the only thing that is an issue is if you're going to eat outside on a hot day be ready to be swarmed by the fly's. I know this is something that is unavoidable so it doesn't have anything to do with the restaurant but the flies will land everywhere if you sit outside on a hot day. Just a heads up. But once again it is not the fault of the restaurant.

I think I may be a little jaded but the food was good, not great! Also, consider the fact that I had cheese enchiladas. So, yeah, I'm kinda basic. Definitely a solid Mexican food joint just nothin to write home about. The location is super cute tho. It's like 2 houses side by side. So there's that??.Food: 4/5

Food: Salsa was watery. Camerones diablas were really bad. The sauce was vinegary and had thick onion slices that you couldn't cut with a fork. My wife's sopa was good so I'm not going to give 1 star. Salsa was worst I've ever had perhaps. El Pollo Loco has better salsa. Very small salsa cups you can't even get your chip into.Presentation: Margarita was in a basic glass not a fancy cool glass like margaritas normally are.Service: It was freezing (outdoors temperature) where we sat and they refused to turn the heater on when we asked

The food here was AMAZING! I can not complain about that but the service here was the worst I have ever received anywhere. Our reservation was at 5 and we got sat pretty fast. Then after waiting 45 minutes for a refill on drinks (about 6 drinks) and chips. We FINALLY got someone 's attention once they decided to bring our food out. They gave someone the food to the wrong people and there was so much communication issues!!! We had a party of 10 people and we asked ahead of time to split our bills. The waitress ANGELICA with glass gave us the worst service! She had a HORRIBLE ATTITUDE. She told us we will all put it on one bill and split it but we told her that 's not what we wanted to do. She pretty much told us she didn 't have the time to take care of us. Then after waiting again 45 minutes for someone to come give us refills on 4 dollar drink we had to go get someone and get our own boxes. After this she decided to give us attention by telling us how much money we owed. When she was trying to divide the bill I asked again wouldnt this be easier to just split them. She was in my face and glaring at me and told me she was another party to take care of and didn 't have the time. After realizing the bill was almost 3 hundred I was furious at the automatic tip she was trying to receive. I went inside and expressed that I wanted separate bills but the waitress lied to the manager of the night and said we didn 't. I expressed what had happened and then the manager asked the waitress to separate them. As the manager was walking away she decided to make a rude comment this is something you should have done at the beginning of the night and we wouldn 't have this problem I immediately told the manager I will not accept her help and wanted someone else. I gave them as much patience and understanding up until that point. I will NEVER come back here and will be sure to tell other people as well.

A Cute, cozy, beautifully plated food and good! Definitely recommend. Plus, super nice staff too!
