Amillys Cafe - TUGGERAH

We have eaten here a few times.. the food is great the service is ok, in saying that the staff that we interacted with were very friendly and accommodating but there is a distinct shortage of staff. The first time we ate there service was a little slow but meals were great actually too big we had bacon and egg roll with tomato jam on sourdough it was delicious and a BLT with a side of chips, this was a huge serve and enjoyed. it wasn't particularly busy about 4 other groups in there at the time.The second time we decided to have brunch there were even less staff and it took awhile for our orders to come out. I had poached egg on toast with spinach this was ok but the spinach leaves were drenched in olive oil and not wilted enough it was tasty and the eggs were perfectly poached but would have preferred spinach wilted and not whole leaves on my plate there was more spinach than egg. Other family members had Pancakes with maple syrup.. there was an extra 10minute wait on these, on top of our half hour wait for our food but they were 2 huge homemade pancakes and by all accounts delicious we also had milkshakes ( in real old fashioned metal milkshake l cups) you actually get a full milkshake for a change, not the trendy mason jars which i dislike. Although the smoothie came in a mason jar. On both occasions we have gone there mid morning. So far we would return as we are happy with the service and the food so far has been great. table was clean and so was crockery and cutlery ( which I am a stickler for)..

As a frequent patron of this cafe we were absolutely appalled at the second rate service dished up from this cafe from what looked like grubby untidy disheveled school kids doing work experienceFrom the outset we struggled to find a table that wasn't already covered in dirty plates and cups and having to move some onto another already uncleared table we finally made our own room to wait for our lunch that had been previously ordered at the counter and then sat patiently for the next 1/2 hourTo add to our enjoyment while waiting we finally had the pleasure of one of the junior staff grumbling and moaning of how busy he'd been while he attempted to clear the adjoining table. After his three attempts all with the moaning one might expect from a labour ward, his task was eventually completed. Bad luck for anyone wanting to use it though as the food scraps and slop from previous spilt drinks throughout the day remained there for the duration of our time in the cafeFinally our lunch was brought to the table with only one set of cutlery. Now one might expect the sides to be brought out at the same time as the main meal as well as the coffees but not today!With the main meals now finished and finally finding any table staff to ask about the balance of our order, we were lucky enough to find our grumbling mumbling whining unkept kid from earlier who reluctantly dragged his feet back to the kitchen and with the ease of a lame sloth and returned 10 minutes later with the balance of the main meal. When reminded of the absent coffees his raised eyebrows and look of utter disinterest totally emphasised our own feelings to the entire debacle What an absolute discgrace to what up until today has been a lovely place for lunchHowever after this deplorable and disgusting effort, here's one place that will defiantly be given a wide berth in future.With so many other options in the centre, I'd suggest don't even bother going in

Mezzo plates are the best. Service was fantastic, always friendly staff. Im sure the chef was trying to hit on me but I don't mind he is half my age. Len chickens are very tasty. Good coffee. Very upperclass for Lakehaven. prices are too high for the area. Also they need to serve chips with the burgers not make peeps pay extra.

The food was just ok but the owner was hopeless in providing good service. It took 45 mins to bring our meals which was a hamburger, beef lasagna and quiche. Except for the hamburger the rest came out of the cabinet so why so long and the hamburger came first and the rest was 10 mins later.Complained to staff and was told that that's how the manager runs it. There wasn't many in the cafe at the time also.Hard to recommend unless owner decides to run it properly!

Food at the Lake Haven Cafe is absolutely awful especially the chicken which is overpriced, very poor quality, over cooked and sitting in warmer for a long period of time. Hot chips very oily and soggy. Cheap quality coffee disgusting.
