The chips may have been lovely hot, but cold they certainly weren 't. Perhaps we should have sent them back but there were six of us and I don 't think we could have stood the wait of six meals being brought up to temperature. The broccoli was also cold (but this isn 't such a problem for broccoli). The peppers were good, the sauce indifferent. Dessert was a brownie with an intenesely tart passionfruit coulis. In itself it was fine, but to my taste didn 't go with the brownie at all and actively fought against it. On top of this was a mousse whose flavour I 'd call 'sweet ' (I think it was supposed to be chocolate). On top of this were some pieces of honeycomb which didn 't add (or take away) anything. A dessert which while not actively unpleasant, I 'd never want to eat again. I 've been in chain restaurants like Cote or Cafe Rouge where they make a rich, satisfying choclate fondant I 'd much, much rather have a competent dessert than one which tries too hard and fails. I didn 't have a starter as I usually struggle with three courses and sides. I had the main, shared two sides and had a dessert and, when I left, was still hungry. For £40 plus wine this was an expensive disappointment. Six diners, four not happy with the meal, and haven 't discussed it with the other two.
Met my best friend for a late meal 9pm. The food was gorgeous cooked to perfection. We both had steaks. The waiter was lovely and friendly. My friend had injuries on his arm due to a difficult time and he was asked about it on two separate occasions . Although it was meant kindly it was awkward and I could see him squirm as we both knew how the injury had taken place but he felt he had to cover this up. The food was lovely and service friendly, the waiter was charming but just take care with asking questions about injuries. We enjoyed the meal and thank you.
Fabulous birthday celebration. The food was divine. We were given an amazing table in the window and the staff made our night. Everyone was friendly, professional and attentive. A special shout out to our waiter for the night, Henry, he was a superstar and made our night.
Most amazing Sunday lunch Friendly staff efficient nothing to much trouble Would definitely recommend can’t wait to go back
We had a lovely meal at this restaurant, Yes it was expensive but the quality was good. The disappointment was the male waiters mannerism when we challenged the service charge! It was something like £38 on top of our bill off roughly £230. I could be slightly out on these figures! We’re happy to leave a tip for the waiter as he was a good waiter but acting all disappointed and pressuring us when we challenged the service charge isn’t right, it should be down to the customers discretion. I mean the whole idea of going out to dine is to be cooked for and not having to wash the dishes, Otherwise we’d grab a takeaway. We always tip the staff but it depends what we think it’s worth or what we can afford. This American thing isn’t right! It leaves a bad taste
