The Host - Toronto

I had an 8pm reservation and showed up at 7:45. I wasn't seated until 8:45 and they placed us in this room that was segregated from the rest of the restaurant and looked like a storage room. We ordered our dinner and appetizer and waited 45 before our appetizer came to the table and it was served cold. After we had our cold appetizer it was 30min before our main arrived. This place was very disorganized and nobody knew what the where doing . We had 4 different waiters coming over to use and they didnt communicate with each other. I will not be returning to this restaurant. Left very disappointed on a valentines dinner with my wife.

The Host was everything we wanted for a Valentine's Day romantic dinner. It felt as though we were in an Indian train station old school and elegant. The food was hot, very good and served in a timely manner. The staff was very attentive to our needs and we felt taken care of in spite of it being very busy. We will definitely return!

I wont lie this place is alright probably not the tastiest Indian food but the restaurant is nice, dishes make the meal look fancy. It’s the taste to me that doesn’t cut it. It’s not authentic Indian food. Must be this location as I have been to other Host locations and the food is amazing. This seems to be a washed down Indian restaurant tastes bland maybe suitable for yorkville crowd.

The food was good in bits and pieces. Me and my wife both felt bloated after the dinner. Need improvement in dishes like dum-aloo, pakora etc.

We waiting for a really long time for any servers to come to ask. In fact, we had to ask to order. No one even offered us water. The food was okay. We went for Winterlicious. It just seemed very basic. For a restaurant like The Host I would expect food to taste much better. You could go to any small Indian restaurant that’s much cheaper, and the food would be much better. I went to the other location about 6 years ago, and it was amazing! So this experience not being the same was disappointing. I would possibly return only to try food off the regular menu, when winterlicious and summerlicious are not happening. Maybe they care more about flavour and quality then.
