Sanagan's Meat Locker - Toronto

Wing in Sanagans to get some stuff for a wooden board for Christmas... and to lure in their fridge (I could hardly believe it! half a size Cornish Pasty. Usually, when you see pasties in Ontario, they are poor little frozen things, about 4... long and crimped up. They are labeled Cornish Pasties, but as every Cornishman yells at you, they are NOT! DIES, perhaps the best Christmas gift I would have, was half the size I'm used to, but oh! the pastry was exactly as it should be strong enough to eat in the hand, but still flaky and the filling was very close perfect. Everyone has his own preferences when it comes to the size of pieces of meat, potato, onion and pigs (rutabaga emmets for you and I like them bigger, but I will not complain! It was well seasoned and they didn't get around with the ingredients. I will be back for more (the beauties take a lot of time to make and the idea of having a pasty lunch every Monday makes me happy! I had pasties of Horse and Jockey (Helston , Ann's (Lizard , Philps (Marazion , Pengenna (St Ives , Oggies (Falmouth , West Cornwall Pasty Co (all in Great Britain before sold to Ginsters and unworthy of the name, Warren's (Helston , Wen Mevernes Wagnis) One and All. Oggie! Oggie! Oggie! Oi!

I have been going to Sanagan for a few years because they always have a high-quality Delirkey. I bought some other things, but the turkey is the thing. And no matter how busy they are when you take a number, you will be served immediately and politely. The only disappointment I had over the years is her sporadic selection of cheese. But really, I don't expect a place called a meat box to deliver my cheese desire. There are other places in Kensington.

The place itself is beautiful and has some good possibilities. Really nice to go and see everything they have. Usually very busy and the stuff tastes good, but it's a bit expensive for what it is!

Here stopped while the Kensington Market wandered to pick up some supplies for a party. They gave the best meat, prepared meals and sausages. The staff is also well knowledgeable. Appropriate prices for very high quality.

We were here chiefly to pick up a smoked turkey we had ordered Sanagan's is a great butcher's shop above all else and took the opportunity to get some of Sanagan's excellent sandwiches, roast beef with brie, Black Forst ham with cheddar, and...chicken salad. Yummy! Our one regret was that we saw a sign saying that as of November 5th the fries with chives would no longer be available. Sad!
