And sure enough, the pupusas were dope. Flavorful toppings, not dry at all, and notably well stuffed with cheese and pork. $9 Canadian for three, which would have made a great meal. We split it among three people, which was a great snack before hitting some more of the local food spots. Highly recommend. Look for the blue storefront no big sign out front.
I love going here to buy latin american ingredients and goods. I always enjoy buying some pupasas as well. It's a nice spot in Kensington Market and usually busy but a quick tip is to call ahead if ordering pupusas and they will be ready for pick up!
This is my go to when I need a tamale fix. I will always grab a few tacos, pupusa and whatever else tickles my fancy but the tamales are so good. This is a tiny bodega of a store with some good groceries and a few tables. It’s nothing fancy and everything delicious. The staff are always so nice and explain all my many questions. We’ve been coming here for 27 years and continue to be impressed. For $19.00 we had 2 drinks and 4 plates. If you can’t decide just ask the staff where they would eat.
Anyone who knows Kensington Market in Toronto knows about the Latin American Emporium. It looks more like a grocery store than a restaurant (which it is to meet all your Latin American Cooking needs) , but don't let that fool you. It is a small place in the middle of the market that cooks up the tastiest treats. The wonderful women cooking will let you know that your food was made fresh with love, and the love is all in the taste. It is idea for those on a budget or not, because good food has no price limit.
