We picked three items and found each to be high quality and tasty. We didn't try the teas or coffees but plan to return.
Bakecode is a very popular cafe and food shop now open on Yonge Street. They serve an assortment of exotic (for me) sweet and savory baked goods and some interesting hot drinks to go with. I had the roasted oolong latte, which apparently uses an espresso system to steep the tea. It was quite good, as was the traditional latte coffee my friend had.We shared a dessert that involved cream cheese mixed with kimchee. I think it was called a Gangnam Star. It could have used a little more kimchee, but it went well with the drinks. People buy a lot of baked goods here - apparently if you buy six or more they waive the tax.Pastries may be on the high-end in prices.Efficient service and very friendly. I will go back.
Kind of stumbled across this place by accident while looking for something to eat that was near the shepherd yonge subway station but wasn't macdonalds and was...well open (and served coffee) - found this place, cozy, warm and inviting. the patio was really cute - especially in the morning. it was a little expensive (each thing was priced invidiually like a chinese bakery in china town often is and because of this if you aren't careful you can spend a pretty penny...er...nickle. No, but, seriously, that blueberry cream cheese pretzel thing was STUPIDLY good. So good.
Nice cozy place with a small size patio. The baked goods are very tasty. Must try the salted duck egg croissant, Raisin cinnamon and walnut bread. I didn't think that the macha croissant was that great (over priced). Hence, the price for each item I think it's pricey. Some of these items you can get from T&T with bigger quantity and same taste. I wouldn't go here on a daily basis. There Japanese cheese slice is approx $7. It's sooo small!!! That's insane!
A great source of creative baked goods ranging from savoury to sweet. I like the ham and cheese loaf, bacon-cheddar bread, cranberry-cream cheese bun, and the coconut-raisin bun. Be sure to carefully read the descriptions so you know what you're getting (e.g. one item is topped with roe, but it looks like cheddar cheese). While this location partners with Chatime, they offer a limited drink menu. In my case they're missing my favourite milk tea flavour -- honeydew!
