We went late not realizing they closed at 7:00 p.m. we walked in a couple of minutes after 7:00, when we realized our mistake we apologized and started to leave. The chef came up and said we should stay. Every one was helpful and friendly, the food was excellent, the andouille melt was just as advertised, just the right heat. We will be going back often.
Food was great but dining room is miserably hot. Fix the AC issue and place would be packed. Sister restaurant next door was worse. Room is packed with too much junk and clutter. Made the already tiny place claustrophobic. Also sweltering hot. Hostess was all sweaty. Had to leave.
Over Priced Under Whelmed For starters, no visible menu, and if there was a line (which the place was basically empty) you were required to grab a dirty greasy menu from the counter where you order(gross). I washed my hands right after ordering. Sadly, being so close to the river, I expected environmentally friendly straws and cups, and condiments. We ordered a Mushroom Swiss Burger and Tuscan Chicken Sandwich both substituted Fries and added 2 Fountain Drinks. The ciabatta bread was the best part of both sandwiches. The Mushroom Swiss came over sauced with Mayo, lettuce, mustard, pesto and tomato. Which is not the norm for a Mushroom Swiss.... the Tuscan Chicken sandwich seemed to be trying to over compensate for its dry, small chunks of chicken(not even sure I received what one would consider an actual legitimate portion of grilled chicken) with WAY to much Pesto, bitter and overly used kalamata olives and sundried tomatoes. I love cheese, but it appeared the amount (a lot) was to hide the disgrace below. The fries were good, but for the $13 I was already spending on the lackluster sandwich, I pondered why I was up charged for the small portion of French fries...(it's normally served with regular wavy chips come on... so underwhelmed so over priced) My partner couldn't finish his burger, he was basically forcing it down as to not waste the $50 we spent. We both left disappointed and wishing we would have went to Burger Robs Instead. 15 minutes later we were still left with the bad taste in our mouth from the confusing mash up of flavors we consumed. Needless to say, we won't be returning or recommending.
Tastes just like New Orleans. Owner was accommodating and awesome to open up for us early. My kid loved their food too.
Not bad for a new establishment. The first time I tried to come here, they weren’t anywhere near closing time yet, but one guy was packing up a vehicle and said business was slow so they closed early. This time I got to try their food and it was pretty good.I had the Gumbo and shared some Fried Green Tomatoes with my husband. They were good the chicken in the gumbo was a little chewy/dry, but I’m just picky with my chicken. Hubby’s brisket sandwich was amazing, though.I think the AC was broken or they were trying to get the tropical atmosphere because it was super hot in there.
