Gilly's - The Archipelago

Excellent Fish and Chips in a great setting. We arrived by boat and were lucky to get the last slip available. We arrived at 12:30, and it only got busier into the afternoon. Well worth the travel time to get there!

This place is crazy busy. Showed up at 7:30 on a Wed and the line up was one hour t get a table. We did not stay. On the Friday we called ahead to make reservations. They don't take any. Showed up at 5:30pm, still a 30 minute wait and 10 table sittings waiting ahead of us. No worries, you can line up for a drink.Eventually got in. Worth the wait. Had pan fried pickerel, pan fried perch. So so so good.Best ever tasted.World class food.Some things are worth waiting for.Love this place.

I have waited years to finally get here after so many good things I have heard. Sadly, there seems to be a drought of fish and we were not able to eat what we came for so we bought alternatives. The Ceaser salad was very good, the cheese bread and snails good. We shared a great bottle of wine (at least great for our taste). But they had no pickerel so we opted for a fish and steak and the fish being whitefish I think. The whitefish was ok. Others at the table had it battered and it was ok. The steak that came with the fish was one of the worst I have had. I could barely cut it with a steak knife. It was cooked to what I wanted, it was the piece of meat itself. grisly, hard. We were not in the mood to tell them as the place was packed and they were falling behind in the kitchen. So sad. But then again, under their heading for their fish "the fish is what we came for", sadly not their fault, but the fish just don't want to bite. Other than that, the place is quaint and neat to be at in the summer. I will try again one day, just not the steak.

Very quaint little place. 6 adults had a nice visit for dinner. All had fish and chips, and although it was good, wasn't great. Service was very good. I was a little disappointed with the French fries. It was about a 30 minute drive for us to get here. I would eat there again, but wouldn't go out of my way to get there.

Tiny and beautiful. Sarah doesn't disappoint worth the drive and wait. Scenery very nice look forward to going back again.
