Was the first time we had been and were very impressed not only with the quality of the food but also the friendly knowledgeable staff who were obviously very enthusiastic about the dishes they were serving. The chef coming out to chat with the guests is a great touch too lovely to see someone who cares passionately about whether the diners are liking what they are eating or not. We'll definitely be back :0
Another fantastic mean at the Crown. Thank you Nicky Chris
What a great afternoon Great food with great hosts We will be back soon
Breakfast cold and ran out hash heaven gave us one hash brown very poor service,
For country pub B&B, this maybe as good as it gets; needing to divest ourselves of the usual stresses of London, we were thrilled to discover The Crown Inn is secreted away in glorious countryside, and at the centre of a charming hamlet, yet still easily accessible to must-see places such as Tenterden, Rye and Sissinghurst. Owner chef Nikki Conrath greeted us warmly, and showed us to our bedroom; it is at once obvious that a lot of care and thought have gone into the restoration and fresh decoration of this place, not least the super beds, en suite bathrooms and luxurious linen, which make it very comfortable, but not fussy. The Conraths have chosen to offer food at The Crown as more bistro than pub, and we think very successfully, with their delicious, easy to choose menu and equally good but sensible wine list. We had an excellent dinner and would love to return in winter to enjoy the open fire in this great little bistro, before bed and a good sleep......and a continental breakfast to wake up for!
