The Tom kha gai is thick and creamy and oh so yummy, so are the pork dumplings. And the Thai basil fried rice. From now on this is officially my takeout joint. Thanks Thai cafe!
I used to enjoy this restaurant, but recently the service was terrible. The server appeared to be unhappy and uninterested in serving us. It was clear that she did not want to be there. Even my husband did not receive a refill for his drink. The food was average, the service was poor, and the atmosphere was decent.
We have been frequenting this restaurant since we relocated to Temple a few years ago. The food is consistently delicious and the portion sizes are very generous. Gigi, T, and the other staff members are always friendly and accommodating. We don't see ourselves going to any other Thai restaurant anytime soon, as long as we are living here. This is our favorite spot to bring family when they visit. We absolutely adore this place.
I had the shrimp pillow and chicken satay at this restaurant, and both dishes were excellent. The flavors were unique compared to what I've had before, even in Thailand, but still delicious. The satay usually comes with a peanut sauce, but here it was served with a sweeter sauce made with tamarind and sweet chili. It was still excellent, just different. I'm looking forward to trying their curries next time I'm in town.
Last night, we had dinner at the restaurant and the ambiance and cuisine were truly exceptional. However, the service left something to be desired. We ordered the yellow chicken curry with sticky rice instead of steamed rice. To our surprise, when the bill arrived, we were each charged $3 for the sticky rice. When we inquired about the extra charge, our server explained that sticky rice is more costly. While I can understand a small fee for a substitution, $3 for a minor alteration to a dish that usually comes with the meal seems excessive in my opinion. Furthermore, the portion size of the sticky rice was small, so I ended up ordering two portions for myself. In conclusion, I believe the restaurant has the potential to excel if they introduce a straightforward upcharge option for sticky rice and enhance their level of service.
