Lido - Tempe

The setting was beautiful, and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, the customer service did not match. Our server was sweet but lacked experience. We waited 20-25 minutes for our drinks, and our drinks and food were brought to the wrong table multiple times.

Excellent food and drinks!! Restaurant does need to clean windows more frequently, since it does offer nice views of patios and lake, but windows were dirty. We were a bit disappointed as after making a reservation to celebrate with another couple, our table was in a poor location, and not at all set or ready for us. That was unsettling. And, when making reservation (1.5 weeks earlier) I told hostess (on phone) that we also wanted after dinner lake cruise. When we got there, a private event had booked the boat for the time we would have finished dinner. Captain of boat was very nice and gave us free passes for rides another time. Finally, got charged extra for ice in our drinks! Our server did take it off our bill when we questioned that. Also, there is an additional charge if using credit cards.

Not bad overall, although the restaurant seems somewhat confused. the reservation required a payment, but then it was best half full. the decor is nautical and somewhat outdated, but the music included my humps remix. they gave us a great table with a view of the sunset, so it was nice. the food is presented (and expensive) more like fine eating, but our server was very casual. the meal itself was decent - we had the crab and artichoke diving, short nativity and salmon - although it was something on the salty side. good selection of drinks and the tiramisu was delicious.

The ambience is great- how can you beat a lake view?!? We started with the Midnight Fog old fashioned which was delivered in a smoke-filled cloche. Absolutely amazing! For appetizers we got the crab and artichoke dip as well as the grilled octopus. Both were so salted we needed another drink to cut it, plus the octopus was overcooked. For our entrees we had the grilled salmon and the steak special. Again everything was too salted and overcooked. I really was hopeful that we would leave there full and happy but sadly that was not the case. We will go back for the drinks at least.
