The new owners are really helpful and the coffee is getting better and better. Always willing to adapt to personal preferences. Highly recommended.
I have been to Moorish twice since it changed hands. The tapas has gone and instead a simple but appealing lunch menu at a fair price. They are also busy with people having coffee and cakes (which looked nice). The lunch menu consists of various sandwiches, jacket potatoes and a daily soup. They offer half a sandwich and soup which you see occasionally and for me is a brilliant idea. On both occasions we have had the soup and sandwich option. The soup has been piping hot and extremely well made. I could not fault what we had. I think however there are some teething issues which are due to new ownership and I am sure these can be sorted. The young girl and lad serving lacked welcoming warmth. It took 12 minutes to get a glass of tap water and the food around 18 minutes. For a simple menu and not a packed cafe this seems a touch long. The lad was sent out to buy coleslaw from the co op but it is down as homemade slaw. The granary bread offered was seeded not granary. I am being picky!! I think the owners just need some feedback to get them going in a good direction. They have all the makings of a great cafe and as the food is so good I look forward to returning.
Very friendly service , great choice of tapas dishes, interesting flavours. I can recommend the ribs, meatballs and the chorizo.
A regular haunt of mine for morning coffee and breakfast. Very accommodating and will tweak their menu if you ask. Excellent coffee and very good croissants. Highly recommended.
