This place has an actual Italian chef owner, so we were really looking forward to eat here... What a shock, food tastes atypical to any run of the mill local Italian restaurants... Most though are so much better. Pasta pomodoro and amatriciana tasted store bought and did not use fresh ingredients ... Octopus salad used meant stale squid.. Scaloppine tasted like the used Campbell's mushroom soup for the sauce. The meal was also one of the most expensive ones we've had in Bacolod and they couldn't even give an official receipt.I have a feeling the Italian owner is not a real professional chef and is there for the face value only
Word of mouth got us to try this small and simple joint near the District at Bacolod.Owned by Chef Carmine from Italy one could surmise already its authenticity. And it didn't disappoint at all... says even my 5y.o. :)We had the aglio olio, capricciosa pizza with homemade Italian sausage, and a bruschetta.Just .Must try #wheninBacolod.
We decided to visit this small and simple restaurant in Bacolod based on recommendations. The chef, Carmine from Italy, gave us high expectations for authenticity, and we were not disappointed. Even my 5 year old enjoyed the aglio olio, capricciosa pizza with homemade Italian sausage, and bruschetta. Just as good as we had heard!
Eating at Chef Carmine's restaurant is always a gastronomic delight. We have been enthusiastic fans of his cooking since 2011 when Monet Lacson recommended it to us. Whenever we are in town, we always make sure to visit his restaurant. Two thumbs up!
