Sunzibar Cafe - Tacloban City

I have been a fan of Sunzibar. Been coming back here since 2014. When they moved to a new place, the place was degrading every time I went there. Unclean and unsanitized utensils, the lights were dark, and the walls were dusty. To add, the comfort room is not functional at all. The food is great, no doubt. But the services they offer is bad. It isn't clean at all anymore. And their own staff had no idea about the orders I was pointing in the menu. Tsk tsk.

Overall 3.5 One of the must try food in tacloban. Food is amazing. They've been serving the city for 20+yrs? Maybe even 30. Not many resto stay that long in business. Those that do means they are good. If not for the broken ac I would really give this place a way better rating. The staff can be improved as well. But frankly speaking most resto give me this vibe anyway. Very few have good service in the region. +0.5 for the senior discounts since they accept them. Don't know if it's the full discount though. Did not check as it was too hot. Last note. Dine at their robinsons north branch so you don't have to eat in a sauna. Lol Food 5 I've been a customer here for a very long time. The food is amazing. Diablo, rum ribs and their different nachos are favorites of mine. Service 2 Their a bit slow. Not really that friendly. They serve you do their job but no enthusiasm like most resto in region 8. They aren't really happy to see you. It's just their jobs. That's the kind of vibe I get from them. Add the broken ac... Ambiance 1 Aircon is broken and its really hot even at night. Will not eat here again. I usually take out anyway. Too bad their artistic rustic decor is someone unique and appealing. But the sauna life vibe isn't my thing when I'm eating. Value 3 Eating here no value at all. I don't wanna eat while I'm inside a sauna. Sorry I gotta include that here. Most people won't do takeouts. Why not eat there and don't make a mess at home. But yeah the food prices are decent just the place is too hot. So fix the ac and the value would be better. The experience is just ruined by the heat too much. Parking 4 They have parking that would fit 3 and a few bikes. Not enough for a full house but decent enough for the place specially when it's partially a sauna at the moment...

This is my go-to place when my appetite craves pork. For the price of 287, the Diablo ribs was such a delish treat for myself and it also comes with a drink. I personally like the taste of its sauce (spicy and tasty) and I like how they always pair it with veggies (shreds of cabbage and carrot) at the side, makes the meal more yum. The burrito (tuna) was also good. The servers are also accommodating.
