Conveniently located close to the Southern Concourse of Central Station, this cafe is a delight to look at, offering a large amount of seating compared to several other cafes, and offers large portions for those who are hungry. We got the Smithy Breakfast to share, with a coffee and banana and chia smoothie. We found that none of what we ordered really stood out. Although not horrible a experience, the food and drinks left no impression and the service was not the friendliest. We may have just ordered the wrong things, but we wouldn't go back to try again. We did not try any of their baked goodies as well. I still do recommend this place for the atmosphere and think it's still worth the try.
Blacksmith cafe is a nicely designed large sized cafe. Close to central station, its convenient location makes it an easy choice for breakfast or lunch. I have visited this cafe several time and have had mixed opinions about the food overall. Coffee is quite mediocre too
Not sure I'm that into the industrial/copper/brass decor design as theme of a cafe, it's hard to feel chill & relax for brunch when it's so dark inside & a sense of harshness around you. Anyway I got their version of French Toast, which was a "Sticky date brownie french toast". It was a bit heavy duty overall with a brioche base, with chunks of sticky date brownie. The bourbon butterscotch caramel was thick & sweet. There were some apple cinnamon compote, but the few pieces really was not enough to off set all the heavy sweetness. Individually each of the elements was actually quite enjoyable, but just too much to have altogether.
Got a chance to visit this place many thanks times as our workplace was just next door and this nice little cafe became our default place for lunch ( mostly take away). Being a vegetarian, i was surprised to note that i have many options to choose from ( Salad/ Sandwich / Soups). My favorite was quinoa/guacamole salad . In short, a nice little place for a quick bite , specially during lunch time.
Had the breakfast burger which was nice. Let down slightly by the service and was disappointed to have my breakfast before the drinks (which came 5-10 mins later). Worth a try but unsure if I will be back.
