Then one of the girls behind me came up and asked me for our order. I gave the food order and wanted to add some drinks. She said she was under age and could not take the drink order. I was paying on card and wanted only one transaction so she called the barman over to finalise the order. He took his time and then got my drinks. Shortly afterwards our food arrived and My Chicken Schnitzel was dry, my wife's roast was also a bit dry and one of our party had the streak which tasted alright but was a bit tough. On completion of our meal we ordered coffee in Mugs and some hot chocolates. I clearly mentioned mugs several times, however when delivered, the coffees were in cups. The barman Cameron delivered them and when challenged on size he went off to check. nearly minutes later he returned and said we were charged for cups and apologised for the mix up. I was very disappointed on our visit and unlikely to return.
I’ve had many mixed experiences here but I’d say overall it’s quite average. Came here for Father’s Day this year, most of our meals were pretty average. I had a chicken burger and the chicken was very overcooked. My sister had grilled fish which was...cold on her plate and lacked flavour. Chips were nice and their service is nice too. Outdoor area is a beautiful atmosphere but unfortunately the food isn’t anything too special. A few things on the menu are really nice, but overall average.
Our experience as a group of had an very nice meal . The quality of the food was very nice.. The portions were on the small side. The seafood platter was very poor value ,very small portions . The worst sea food platter I...have had in Australia. . Overall the food was very tasty.. Would certainly return.
Huge disappointment, we went for dinner with friends on Friday night , it was not busy , so NO excuse for slow service, min wait for food! One of the group of four ordered a Veg burger which was dry and half cold with...chips Luke warm another two of the group ordering Seafood Plate , ok if it was for a normal serve as you would expect normally , BUT NOT for counted pieces of Calamari, crumbed prawns and a skimpy piece of fish that looked poached not grilled as requested and the rest of the plate made up of salad and chips , this is what you would expect in a high profile restaurant with high quality seafood NOT a tavern (pub) To boot , the table next to us came in after us and ordered after and received food first . . Based on this experience, would not return or recommend to family and friends. If the place was busy , would would appreciate the delay with food but no excuse for poor service and poor serving ! I’m a bit disappointed that I did not take a photo to share on this review showing what Seafood plate you get for !!!
We had a small private event at The Grove. Alex made it super easy for us to organise. They had a band on that night. Great atmosphere and a fantastic night. Would definitely recommend!
