St. John's Grill - Sunnyvale

Really wanted to like this place because it 's so close to home, but the food was just BAD! It 's extremely rare to have a bad meal around here because the bar is set so high. Hopefully just an off night.I had the chicken sandwich and it literally tasted like nothing...nothing. I had to drown it in ketchup just to get myself to eat it. My two young kids had Mac n cheese, which they get at every restaurant where it 's available, and they both refused to eat it because it tasted weird . When I tried it, it had an after taste that reminded me of dirty dish water.The woman taking our order was friendly, the atmosphere is nice and casual, prices were fair, and the service was fast as we were the only people in there. If I could figure out what their specialty is (maybe burgers? , I 'd love to give it another try.

Went in early as they opened today.Had the grill rolling but decided to just get a burger since it's my first time visiting.The guac bacon burger is fantastic, fries are mid, prices are a bit high but fair for today's market.

Nice, casual spot for lunch outside! The smell of the smoker was mouth watering. I had a bacon Bleu burger which was delicious! I also got to sample some smokey bbq chicken which was divine fresh and reheated. It would be a little dim and busy/loud for me inside, but that's the kind of atmosphere you should expect for a pub- also why I was happy with the patio. Would visit again for a yummy weekend lunch with friends.

Rude guy at the payment counter going out of his way to be rude. Way to go buddy.
