Great food for such a small operation. Got the pollo Jalisco, and was quite satisfied with the food, especially after being on the road for 8 hours. Worth a stop if you're going by Stuart Iowa!
Los Altos always delivers! All in all, I definitely recommend. My favorite is Taco Tuesday. The service is top notch. They can be busy, so wait times vary, but service is quick and the staff is always polite and helpful. The food is above average for a Mexican restaurant. The chips and salsa are good, the sides are good, and the entrees are robust and delicious. My wife likes to get chicken and rice, if it's not Tuesday, I'll get some kind of burrito, and the kids have something off the kids menu like beef nachos. It is all good and portion sizes do not disappoint. With that being said, don't order the pizza (seriously, get the beef nachos instead, you're welcome). Prices are average, but due to portions being sizeable, they're worth every cent.
I go here with my relatives once nearly every trip I make to Iowa, I can't remember quite when we started but it's been at least several years now. They serve generous portions, the food is always hot, fresh, delicious. The food has never once been over- or undercooked. The staff is always friendly, they've never gotten our orders wrong, they always give good customer service. The horchata a drink) they serve there is the best I've ever had they're the 1st place I'd ever tried it) to the extent I always order 2 so I can take one with me when I go if you do order it for takeout, order it without ice so it won't dilute the taste--unless you plan to drink it immediately). No one in or around my hometown in Illinois) makes horchata as well as them, so I tend to try to get some for the home-trip as well.
Excellent food close to I 80 West. Exit 93. Must stop next time. Very cheap and excellent tasty food
