The small restaurant has that locals love it feel... The dining room was filled with my kind of people smiling, tanned workers eating with their friends. I tried the clam chowder (if you asked was it white or red, you don 't know your geography and was blown away by the swimming pool sized bowl ! I tasted fresh clams and bacon. It could have been my whole meal it was so generous. Plus, it was $6. Great value. Our server, a friendly young woman named Asher, recommended we get our lobster roll on their special bread great suggestion. The lobster was fresh and a mix of claw and tail meat. Of course, no celery (wahoo! and no filler. Just lobster and butter. I loved it. The bill was a modest $30 for lobster, chowder, fries, tax and bottomless ice tea. Friendly, clean, close to the water, ample parking good food, very good value. Recommended.
I liked the menu here. They offer many different options. Last time I was here I had a pizza and the time before that their fried clams. I have not had their Lobster Roll but I know people who have and it 's supposed to be good. Both my meals were good. It does get hot inside and it was smaller then I expected. I really liked the staff. They couldn 't have been nicer. When I was here it was cold out so dining outside was not an option. Place is small inside and wasn 't crowded but both times, I was here on a weekday. So that maybe why. I 'd come back here in a minute. UPDATE: Not sure but I heard they may have closed. If so, it is to bad, as they had such a cozy hometown eatery appeal and the two times I was there the food was really good. I 'd been looking forward to trying them again.
Tons of bugs outside. I mean, I get it, it's outside...but my goodness, I felt like was crawling with tiny gnats. But that's neither here nor there and not part of the review. You don't like bugs, sit inside. BUT, with that said...if you're promoting a patio...spray or something. Charged 3) dollars for a club soda. Waited a long time for a waitress. Ordered a lobster sandwich with a side ceaser salad $3.50 upcharge) Salad was barely dressed and didn't taste like anything special. Lobster sandwich was DRENCHED in butter. Meat was overcooked and not very much. So much in butter that my stomach hurt for hours afterwards. The bread was stale. I took off the top of the sandwich as it was too much stale bread for my taste. Friend ordered a burger no bun...sub side salad).. if the side salad was a $3.50 upcharge it would've cost her about 13.50 Instead, the waitress told her to get a mesculan salad 9.00) with a burger on top 8.00). You do the math. There are better options.
It might just be my taste, but stretches of Reggae music don't bother me in the least. Not my cuppa exactly, but not annoying. But once the Reggae cycle is over? The music is full on country music. This music makes me want to leave immediately! Service-always friendly. Food hit and miss. They need to ease up on the alas dressing for sure but the greens have been good quality for the most part.
So, once again, being told that no seating available for my family and I,. Not outside, not inside. Funny how Vick runs around, comes back and says... Nope: 20 30 minutes. Then one of the awesome waitresses says: how many? 5? No problem, I have a table right here for you. Vick, bite me....
