The Battle Of Bannockburn Cafe

I must be honest: I didn't have high expectations. I am familiar with battlefields and while I appreciate the history, I know they can sometimes be dull. Not so with Culloden! They present both the English and Scottish perspectives, which I really appreciate. Visitors are greeted by 3D figures before watching a 360° video detailing the events leading up to the battle. After that, guests move into a room with an interactive map where they can control English or Scottish soldiers and strategize the battle. Even the least interested person will be engrossed! The leader who guided us through the strategy game was excellent, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. Afterward, we had the chance to dress up in period costumes. The gift shop and cafe were also lovely. I would definitely return!

I went to this restaurant with my husband and two young children (ages 5 and 11). I was unsure if my youngest would enjoy it or even pay attention, but he did. The 3D experience was fantastic and well-designed, and our guide was excellent in telling us the story and immersing us in the feeling. The final battle was very engaging, and my sons, who played as kings on opposite sides, enjoyed the experience. The food and drinks were well-stocked and affordable. The area where they could try on armor and wield weapons was also great, and the leader was able to answer all of our questions. The monument and statue are a must-see. Overall, I highly recommend this place for a fun day with very helpful and friendly staff.
