I always make sure to visit the beautiful meadows by the river Tieth in Callander every year for the Jazz and Blues Festival. I have been coming here since I was 10 years old, creating many family memories in this stunning location. Despite the unkind weather in October, the backdrop of Ben Ledi mountain is truly amazing. A must-see spot is the bridge over the Tieth near Bridgend hostel on the A81 to Aberfoyle, just a short distance outside of town. It offers a beautiful panorama of the area that is worth experiencing on any trip.
Our visit to Callander Meadows gave us a cozy evening with delicious food and a great Ros'e. Our wishes were received and so our youngest fellow travelers could also find a delicious dinner. We felt comfortable and can recommend the restaurant. A reservation is advisable as the Callander Meadows is a small restaurant...
We stayed at this hotel on Saturday night as a stopover on our way to Shetland, and we wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel is beautiful and is located in the charming town of Callander, with lovely shops and scenic places to explore. The owners, Nick and Suzanne, are excellent hosts, providing a warm welcome and helpful recommendations for things to see and places to enjoy a drink. The hotel is tastefully decorated and our room was cozy with a leather sofa, stylish Checked woollen curtains, and a very comfortable king size bed. The evening meal was exceptional, with a gourmet menu featuring smoked salmon for starters, lamb for me, and calves' livers for my husband - all absolutely delicious! The dessert was also fantastic. We can't wait to return!
Stayed here a couple weeks back ,to do a bit of walking in and around Callander found the place no problem as its on the main street , never had a chance to eat (apart from breakfast) because we forgot to book , but breakfast was great , and you order what you want the night before which is a great idea we thought , room was great , though we would have liked a better view (looking on to the main street) but it was fine got up early on the sunday to go walking after breakfast ,only to discover they had a water leak downstairs and it was coming from our room (we found this out later on in the afternoon after our walk) ,so they had to turn off our water supply in our room ,to be fair they said they tried to get us a room elsewhere in the town but everywhere else was full ,so they (as in the owners Nick susanna) very kindly offered us the use of their own private bathroom and shower, which we took up there offer ,well we were out walking the hills for 5 hours ,all in all we had a lovely time staying at the meddows and will be back again very soon .
