Sadly I have got to say that after today I will not be returning. I understand how hard COVID has been tough on a lot of business, however for the same reason staff should try a little hard to earn the little business they can, of course within all the necessary safety measures. I wasn't asking for much or anything outrageous, just my usual, El Plato típico, where in the past you were able to choose how your eggs were going to be made. When I requested regular scrambled, the lady rudely told me that I only had two choices, either get their already made fried eggs or their pre-made eggs with vegetables that looked like it had been sitting there a really long time. Not appetizing at all. I couldn't understand why this process had changed. It wasn't a language barrier because I was speaking Spanish fluently so there was no confusion on what I was requesting. I tried not get upset and figured it was probably because food could no longer be made at that particular time, however 2 seconds later there was a request for 3 pupusas to be made. I was pretty upset cause not only does it take longer to make pupusas but they were making them from scratch. It takes 2 minutes to make scrambled eggs!! I still tried to keep my composure and considered ordering fresh pupusas but then saw that they were priced at $3.29 each!! What is going on with these people!! That's ridiculous! I am not one to write negative reviews often but I was truly disappointed on how I was treated and how much things have changed. Now I don't want to sound silly and make this over some eggs but what ever happen to customer service. If you chose to still go just be aware and know what to expect. A recommendation to the owner, consider choosing better staff if you are not there to represent your establishment. The ones you have now are pretty horrible.
I only went one time and I only went because my friend wanted to go. I wish I hadn't. The carne asada platter costs too much and the meat was bland. I've had much better from La Champita in Herndon. I will never return to this restaurant because the food was not good and the restaurant is dirty. The floor was filthy as well as the counter. It was disgusting.
Homestyle, cooked daily, the prices are very good, as the quality and the papusas are great. Would definitely recommend.
Riquísimo Great Value I am from the city and had searched for a place to eat without success. I was over this lunch table with an empty stomach. I went in a box with half my lunch later. All the time you can hear the lady in the back hand to make the tortillas. The staff is friendly, smiling and laughing as they work. The food is incredibly delicious, an incredible value compared to the area. It is not a nice place to eat, just a handful of tables, and above all a counter with torn open bartools (which I guess you can call characters) in bad need of repetition. I would recommend this for people who need to take their lunch to go back to work or look for a great homemade meal. Gracias!
The line at lunch time was too long, then when you get to order half of the items on the display menu they are out of. You can only order whatever the lady says is available. the tables there were small and cramped and parking is horrible as you always have to wait about 20 min until someone else comes out, and even then your fighting w someone else who claims that's theie parking spot as well.
