I was skeptical to try this new place because of the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. I made a reservation for Easter weekends on OpenTable and found customer service and food very good. The fish was fresh and we liked the ambience. I think it's easy for a new restaurant to get tough critics when they first open because they need time to work the logistics. I'm a tahoe-local and I'll be back, let these few bad reviews stir you away. Thanks to our server WILL, which was fantastic.
Like the other reviews, the food was terrible. The environment was fine, but the sushi was bad. Because how expensive everything was, it wasn't worth it at all.
Eating is terrible. I wish I could say I was exaggerated, but we went to sushi (here the name, sushi kai), and I can honestly say that it was the worst sushi I had in a restaurant. Also much too expensive for bad quality. I hope this review (and reviews to come) helps them to realize that they need to make a change.
Slow service (under staffed, our guy was?t terrible but we were there on a Sunday and they had only one server), terrible food (seriously, every dish was disappointing. No flavor, someone needs to rethink the dishes), and terribly over priced for the quality of food. Environment and menu looked great, but after our meal there was just no redeeming quality for the waste of time and money. Skip, and head somewhere (anywhere) else instead.
