Always a great place, good food and atmosphere never disappoint
Perfect evening to sit outside and enjoy the weather with good friends. By far the mozzarella was my favorite part of the meal. So fresh, soft and topped off with a drizzle of EVOO. I could have just eaten that for dinner and been completely satisfied. The marinaded garlic with the red peppers paired so well with the mozzarella. The bolognese was a bit heavy on sauce and meat in ratio to the amount of pasta, but the pasta was homemade. Tuna tartare was fantastic! The cucumber slices and avocado on the bottom added freshness and cleansed the palate. Salmon was cook perfected, but a heavy meal. Between the buttery sauce and mashed potatoes, it was instant food coma. The four of us shared tiramisu, creme brûlée and sorbet. All three were very good. Overall a very good meal, but heavy. Beer selection could use some work. I realize their specialty is wine, as a wine bar, but for folks who don't drink wine, a small offering of five, well crafted beers would be nice.
Another great Italian dinner at Cotto. Owner is friendly and helpful, brought ya complimentary apt which was delicious. Lobster pasta, and the hangover steak both seasoned very well and prepared nicely. Nice Bar/ Bathrooms and cozy dining
I was really excited to visit this place after reading the reviews of this place. The decor and lighting of this place was very nice and appropriate. The restaurant is a bit on the small side and unfortunately we were seated at a table that was ok n the main passage way and through our who meal we had to duck and move all night as meals and people passed by. Our drink order was taken and the service seemed a bit slow, by the time we were ready for another drink it took quite some time before we could place a second round. For our food we had a platter of cured meats and cheeses and we were blown away. Y the size of the platter, it was huge and plentiful. Many selections of meats and cheeses. We were actually quite pleased. The disappointment we had was when we asked either for some crackers or toasted bread to go along with the meats and cheeses which I guess I am accustomed to having it served along way th the platter. The waitress said they did not have any but she could make us some focaccia to go along with the platter. The bread did not come until practically the end of the meal. For my entree I had the osso bucco which taste wise and size wise was perfect. My problem with the meal is that it came with risotto which I am not a fan of so I asked for some pasta instead. I was told the manager said it could not be done. This is the only place I have eaten at which would not let me replace something on the plate. Mind you I was willing to pay extra if I had to but it was not an option. Overall I was a bit disappointed with the place, it was cramped and the service was not as good as I expected. Additionally I would imagine a simple substitute of pasta instead of risotto should not be an overly complicated thing to do.
