McDonald's - Squamish

Super quick and easy automated kiosk ordering process. Great McDonald's pricing for drinks! We stopped in for a drink and were impressed with their efficiency.

We stopped here on a busy Sunday afternoon. You place your orders on what look like giant iPads - you just click on all of your choices. This was pretty quick, but I chose to pay by cash, which meant I had to go to the counter with my ticket - and there was a queue! So would have been quicker to queue in the first place.Once you have placed your order, you get a ticket with your order number and a screen lets you know when your order is being processed and when it is ready to collect.Theoretically this should free up Staff to keep hygiene standards up, but the eating area was filthy. The tomato ketchup dispenser had dripped ketchup into the ice tray of the drinks dispenser creating a mush of ice and ketchup. Tables were not clean. They had run out of trays, so gave me our meals in a bag. The meals were ok, but the unhygienic conditions in the public area made me wonder what the cooking area was like.

I saw a bunch of menu items I've never seen at another McDonald's. Poutine fries, double fish fillet, pastries, cookies and a bunch of flavored sundaes (blueberry crumble, etc). There was a play structure there, not the biggest but slightly below average size.They had about 3-4 large LCD screens for you to place your own orders which I thought was nice. One negative was they were tight on parking spaces.

Salads and ice cream treats were very good. The restaurant was clean; a TV was on, and the fireplace made it cozy.

Very clean, large location, standard McD offerings, clean bathrooms. Great meeting point for hiking / snowshoeing adventures year round. Big parking lot outside.
