Docherty's Fish Chips - Spruce Grove

We were really hungry and decided to try Docherty's. It was Monday and they offered an all you can eat fish and chips. I was worried it would be busy, but not so. You order at the counter and they deliver to your table. We both had the cod, all you can eat. After sitting down, we looked around and noted that the place needed a real good clean. Every second table had a reserved sign (likely to keep Covid-19 distancing), but it was apparent that these tables (and around them) had not been cleaned in some time. They were dusty and the flooring was dirty. The waitstaff did not wear masks or gloves. The food arrived and to my surprise, it was huge and delicious. No need to ask for more. Would I eat here again? Not likely in the restaurant, but I could see doing take out.

The girl that works there is unpleasant and grumpy good way to kill a business being miserable and have no personality

Not impressed I have gave benefit of doubt due to our unfortunate circumstances as per covid 19. But I have tried to continue to support a local business. I have ordered 3 times in last 2 weeks. Food was unacceptable. Fries were pieces and fish was small. I have lived in Spruce Grove for 18 years and I will never return to this business again...This business has gone down and still asking too dollar for terrible food

Good food here if you enjoy fish. Wide variety of choices and everything cooked fresh when ordered. Staff very good at recommending choices. Will definitely return again

I have been enjoying the fish and chips here since 1983! New owners, and quality of both food and service has slipped...... I kept going back, hoping for the return of everything that made this my absolute favorite place to eat, hands down. The service was okay this time, but the quality of the food was not. Everything was sooo greasy! I know some grease was to be expected, but ....... Sorry guys! Please try to get it right, so I can go back to loving it!
