Vele - Springfield

Excellent appetizers and entrees were totally brilliant. the lamb linlipops and filet were the best we had in a long time.

I love the bar staff! Joe and Jessica and the new guys are awesome! And the food is excellent! I try to go every time I’m in Springfield.

This restaurant has somehow received very good reviews, for the most part. Mine won't be one of them. The dining room chairs are plastic oval-shaped objects more unsuitable for a patio than a fine dining establishment. My chair had an uneven leg and had to be switched by the server. Our server (who never wore a mask) brought the salads after we finished our meal. When I asked the server to take them back to the kitchen, he informed me that the problem was my fault for not reminding him to bring out the salad as he was serving the entrees. And as others have noted, the acoustics in the dining room are awful. A woman seated next to us kept laughing/screeching in a tone that reverberated throughout the room as if we were in an echo chamber from hell. And stay away from the shredded beef entree; it's shredded to the point that is imperceptible. To be fair, there was one redeeming feature at Vele-the bartender knows his business.

Vele is an absolute treat. It is my boyfriend and I’s top choice for anniversary and other celebratory dinners. It is worth the price. Service is top notch. Everything I have tried on their menu is delicious. Cocktails are unique and on point. The lamp lollipops are by far my boyfriend and I’s favorite. They recently changed the entree and it was just as delicious, if not more! My boyfriend ordered the ribeye last night and it was the best steak I’ve ever had. We also ordered the shrimp and crab cakes as an appetizer, they were amazing!! Wish we had room for dessert, their crème brûlée is incredible. Best place for fine dining in Springfield!
