My husband adores the pancakes and bacon, and the portion size is so large that he struggles to finish it! The hot chocolate is absolutely delicious. Overall, one of our preferred places to dine. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas.
This restaurant used to be fantastic in the past! I loved the ambiance and decor, and the staff were always polite. We never had a bad meal or afternoon tea until last Saturday when 10 of us went for a friend's birthday. We paid £22.50 per person, which I had recommended. The food portions were very small and we were underwhelmed. It was nothing like what was shown on your website. For example, what happened to your homemade sausage rolls, quiche, finger sandwiches, cake, and fresh fruit that we had last time? And what was that Eton mess? Two pots of tea and one coffee were served, and we were not asked if we wanted more drinks. The outdoor facilities were also very dirty. Something has clearly gone wrong, and it's unfortunate to say that we will never be returning.
A massive shame that you’re so obviously trying to save money by cheapening your breakfast ingredients. Our experience yesterday was so different from previous visits. If you’re going to offer tasteless sausage and bacon, cheap bread and cold beans then for gods sake lower your prices. We were expecting your usual high standards and were very disappointed. Time to try elsewhere.
As the previous review states the breakfast is now appalling and not worth £13 , it used to be really great but i now doubt any of the food will be nice judging by the breakfast , we will not be returning and will be sticking to bilbys and misterton wi cafe , its a classic story of new owners cheapening the ingredients to maximise profits at the cost of reputation , 0 out of 10
This morning, we came in for breakfast to celebrate a special birthday. We have visited this restaurant many times before, but were quite disappointed on this occasion. The food quality did not meet our usual expectations. Two of us ordered the Full English breakfast, which used to come with two sausages, black pudding, two tomatoes, and proper bread, among other items. However, today it only included one sausage, a thin slice of white toast (not the slow dough bread that was advertised), and dry, overcooked bacon. The beans were also lacking in quality. The staff were not very friendly or engaging - a smile goes a long way. We were really let down by this experience and hope that it was just a one-off incident, and that the restaurant will return to their usual standards soon.
