I was a little unsure about the mix of Caribbean and British pub food on the menu, thinking that some dishes might be better than others. However, every dish we chose was excellent. We tried the beef bourguignon, belly of pork, and mutton stew, along with a variety of desserts. I highly recommend this place!
I reunited with some old school friends at the Flying Fish for their Sunday carvery. I usually don't enjoy carveries because I worry about how long the food has been sitting out, but this was a pleasant surprise! The beef was succulent and tasty, the vegetables were fresh and plentiful, and the Yorkshire puddings and trimmings were delicious. The desserts were equally delicious. Buddy and Kate welcomed us like old friends, and all the staff were fantastic. I couldn't find any faults with the Flying Fish, and we will definitely be going back soon!
I recently visited the Flying Fish and had the best Sunday lunch I've had in a long time! I've been disappointed with Sunday lunches at other pubs in the past and had sworn off going out for them again. However, that all changed today at the Flying Fish. Their lunch was excellent - the meats were tender and flavorful, the roast potatoes were delicious, and the choice of vegetables was great. The cheesecake was light and perfect. It was also a good value for the money. I enjoyed the relaxed and informal atmosphere of the restaurant, just as it should be.
My first Sunday carvery at the flying fish and it was delicious, and I do recommend the rhubarb and custard cake dessert.
Such great staff and a fabulous welcome. Food is well presented and tastes amazing. Drinks are delicious and the martini was so good I had it twice
