Claire's Of Ilchester - South Somerset

Shocking place. Looked lovely until we walked in the door. Rude woman. Poor service. We wanted to do a take away.

"The food at this restaurant is incredible and worth every penny. The scone with cheese and pickle costs only £3.50, and the brie and cranberry sandwich on granary bread is a steal at £5.50. Absolutely fantastic!"

I wandered in not having ventured here before. I am used to a greasy spoon and a no nonsense fry up. This is not that sort of fry up... It's lean and not at all greasy. The tomatoes are absolutely wonderful and the bread I swear was sourdough. Either way it had seeds galore and tasted fantastic. The bacon was thick and tasty, the sausages were top notch and the baked beans were hot. Overall very impressed with the quality here.

I was fortunate to come across this Cafe on my travels. Opened at 08.30. Very nice Vegetarian Breakfast, Tea and Coffee. The Cheese Scone was probably the best I can remember having. Super service, and the atmosphere enhanced by a couple of locals. I hope to pass that way again ! Free Council Car Park across the road. Amazing.

Fantastic little cafe in a beautiful village. The staff were so helpful. Very nice coffee good children's menu for lunch.
