It's great that it's BYO, especially with a Sainsbury's conveniently located across the road. I don't understand why some people accuse the staff of being rude - it's a busy restaurant with plenty of reservations, so they need to utilize all their tables.
I have visited this restaurant many times and it is still one of my favorites. The staff is great, always friendly and the manager is one of the nicest men I know. I hadn't been in a while so I decided to stop by for an early treat. We were seated promptly and given glasses since it is BYOB. We were left to leisurely peruse the menu and not rushed to make our choices. The chicken chat starter was exceptional, and our mains were delicious. I can't praise the food and service enough, although some may think I am biased because I have never had a bad meal here. I even collected takeout during lockdown and have always been a loyal fan of this restaurant. It's all about personal preference, but in my opinion, this restaurant is fantastic.
I have been a customer of this restaurant for several years. I appreciate that it is a BYO establishment, so they typically prefer customers not to stay for more than two hours. I called earlier in the week to make a reservation for two at 6:30pm, understanding that the table would need to be vacated by 8:30pm. When I later called to inquire about adding two additional people to the reservation, I was abruptly told no. The person I spoke with, who I assume was the manager, was rude and talked over me. He even mistakenly claimed that my reservation was for 6:00pm instead of 6:30pm. Ultimately, our reservation was cancelled without any apology. Despite their business and potential stress, it is important to treat customers with respect. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
Great tasty curry, and lovely poppadoms chutneys to start. Our table was required by 9pm, so we were a bit rushed, but was told this at the time of making our reservation. Staff were friendly. BEWARE! Corkage fee is PER GLASS, NOT BOTTLE! Which I thought was a bit cheeky!!
Don’t think I’ve ever experienced such terrible service. My friend rang the day before to try and an extra person to the booking and was met with a rude and abrupt response on the phone. We arrived for our meal at 6pm. By 6.15pm we were being rushed to order, despite being told we had our table until 8.30pm. Some of our table were stuck in traffic so we said we would text them to send through their order. 5 minutes later, the manager comes to the table and in a rude tone told us he would be taking away one of our tables as we hadn’t yet ordered. It was only 6.20pm at this point. We told him how rude we thought this was and he told us again that they needed the table back by 8.30pm. We explained that we were ready to order but he hadn’t given us any chance to do so before rudely trying to remove one of our tables. During the meal, the young waiters were attentive and polite. We finished our meal in plenty of time and the manager did not apologize for his rude tone. Will not be going back. Shame as the food was actually quite good.
