Sunar Gow - South Derbyshire

I ordered a variety of dishes and sides for takeout, and they were all incredibly delicious and diverse. Each item tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly. The flavors and textures were wonderful, and each dish had its own unique characteristic. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This is quite simply the best Indian Bangladeshi restaurant in the the area. Whether it be a restaurant or take-away experience you won’t be disappointed. 10 10

We moved to Hilton three years ago and since living here, routinely order from Sunar Gow. The staff are the kindest people you could meet and put a lot of effort into creating a lovely atmosphere to eat in the restaurant. Staff are attentive but not disruptive- always incredibly friendly. Equally, the takeaways are always delicious and hot. We collect to make it easier for them and for us to decide when we eat but when we have had delivery, no issues. Recommendations for the chicken tikka jalfrezi and saag dishes. They’re our favourite but we had a slightly more traditional meal here on Christmas Day which was equally appetising. Overall, we love it at Sunar Gow and have never had a bad meal. Eat in or take away, you won’t regret using them for an Indian meal!!!

I have typically had a great experience with the food at this restaurant. While there have been a few minor issues in the past, they were nothing major. However, on Sunday 24th July, I ordered a takeaway that arrived a little bit late but was still acceptable. Unfortunately, the onion bhajis were cold and soggy, and the rogan josh was lacking in tomatoes and lamb, with the lamb being tough and fatty. The curry, which is usually dark in color, was very pale and also cold. I called to complain and the staff were apologetic, offering me a refund. I also reached out to them on Facebook but have not received a reply or refund. I will not be ordering from Sunar Gow again.
