We ordered the A La Carte dishes Chefs special 2 dishes $68...wtf. Chicken breast was super dry and small and the Taggletelle was equivalent to a food court dish at best. Kids menu $20 was a tiny steak very small soda and 2 scoops of ice cream. Also steak dry cooked to a millimetre of cardboard. Wine and beer $10 on average only small in volume. Talk about taking advantage of a captured audience!!! I thought I was in a ski resort but I was just a short drive from semi civilization. Won't get me again $140 and still hungry!!!
You're in national park and have a monopoly on everything it's not going to be amazing, but it was perfectly acceptable. The decor hasn't been updated since the 90s but that's part of the charm. They have some weird addiction to soup so much soup poured out of that kitchen! But the slow cooked lamb was harmless and presented beautifully on a timber board, and the pumpkin was genuinely excellent. The cheese was supermarket quality, but again, expected and not a disaster. The service was friendly and efficient.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at O’Reilleys. The pumpkin soup was not a great start but we selected the shared lamb plate. That seemed to be the meal of the night. There were many boards being carried out groaning with lamb as well as a beautiful selection of vegetables. The meat was melt in your mouth and the veggies delicious. We selected the sticky date pudding for our dessert and it was enormous but also enormously delicious. We had to take half of it back to our room. The staff were some of the best I have ever encountered. They were professional, friendly and informative. Nothing was too much trouble. Our experience was first class and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
We were really disappointed with the dining experience at O’Reilly’s Dining room. There was no a la carte menu. We had to pay $55 each for a 3 course menu of soup, main and dessert. The food was sub standard as was the staff. As for the restaurant it is badly in need of some refurbishment and deep clean. Old carpet, light fittings and furniture. The character of the place is great, but in neglect.
