Victoria Hotel - SOUTH BATHURST

This restaurant offers a variety of pub food options with nightly specials. On Thursdays, all meals are priced at $13 or less.

We stopped by the Victoria Hotel in Bathurst for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by their Monday special - a Rump Steak for $14 including sauce, chips, and vegetables. Despite our low expectations, the steak was fantastic, weighing at least 300 grams and perfectly cooked and tender. The pepper sauce was standard pub fare, but everything else exceeded our expectations. The service was excellent, with friendly and polite country staff who were ready to greet us with a smile. We were amazed at the quality of the steak for such a reasonable price and will definitely be returning when we travel in that direction again. The menu board offered a different special each day, and the atmosphere was that of a typical country pub, filled with friendly locals. We were so happy we decided to dine there.

A group of 10 people went out for dinner and each person was able to find a meal that suited them, including a vegetarian option. The fish was exceptional and those who ordered the steak & ribs were pleasantly surprised by the generous portion size. The service was efficient and the server, a friendly young lady, was helpful throughout the meal. Desserts were also a hit, with the portion sizes and quick service impressing those who indulged. Kudos to the staff for a job well done - we will definitely be returning for more of the same.

Thursday nights are no meals over $15. Many a man has not been able to demolish the mixed grill. their steaks and schnitzels are also tops. Always a generous serve of chips and salad or if you prefer veges.There are Kids meals which are not skimped on are also good value.We have been regular diners for more than 10 years and have never had a bad meal.
