38º North Lounge - Sonoma

I was thoroughly impressed with my entire experience at the restaurant. I ordered a $36 steak that could easily be worth double that. It was perfectly cooked and exquisitely seasoned. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, adding a personal touch to our meal. The wine selection was excellent, and the outdoor seating was fantastic with heat lamps everywhere. This place is the real deal!

I've visited this lounge frequently and I have to say, their kitchen shares some amazing offerings with the Michelin-starred restaurant Sante. The service here is exceptional. Make sure to get to know the servers and bartenders, as they truly treat you like a VIP. The bartenders are quite skilled and are happy to craft unique drinks upon request. I'm not a heavy drinker, but they whipped up an incredible blackberry cream cocktail that reminded me of a creamsicle. They also boast an extensive wine list, including the highly regarded Screaming Eagle wine served by the glass. I'm not quite sure what that entails as a wine enthusiast, but it seemed significant to those who were drinking it. If you're staying at the Fairmont, certain room rates might come with discounts on dining, so it's worth checking out for some great savings!

The drinks were excellent, and they had a great selection of cigars. The roast chicken sandwich was one of the best things I've ever tasted!

The service was incredible. The waiting staff and bar channels were great. We had our one-year-old daughter who was raisin cain, and they were there to help immediately clean up (and we felt terrible at the chaos she made). 5 stars for them. 3 stars for the chicken sandwich. As a fried chicken expert, the sandwich was fine. They sell that as Nashville hot chicken sandwich (that's my favorite food), but it's more like a fried chicken sandwich with spices on it. The Brioche is obviously top notch because you can never go wrong with Brioche. But that was the highlight of the sandwich. The chicken was kind of thin and little taste / pick. Maybe my taste buds were burned hot by the amount of Nashville I had, but this one didn't crack my top ten. Great pommes! Her cured chicken pot cake will also knock off your socks!

This is a basic hotel lounge. Nothing above the top. Service was fast because the lounge was not busy. It didn't matter for the wine list, but they offer delicious Parisian sidecar. Cheese plate was very good and the shrimps Tostada Art dish that I cannot remember the name. Look at it when you're in Fairmont.
