The ribs were really good, although I thought they could have been better, some of them had some deep carts. Would eat for the fried chicken again!
My roommate got their chicken and waffles and it was great. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and I would rate it a 3/5. Wish it had more substance than just a bun, aioli and chicken. Good but not exceptional. Their potato salad was OK. The service was OK.
It's a NO for me. I'M giving 3 stars because the atmosphere, service and ribs were good. The ribs were tender, falling off the bone with the right amount of sauce....everything else ?. We ordered the nashville hot chicken and thought we were being pranked...it's waaay too hot inedible. The waitress was great, came and took them away and replaced them with some regular fried chicken. Too much breading but very little flavor. The potato salad was big hard chunks, in some sort of dressing-terrible. The mac and cheese was ok, would have been better without the breadcrumbs. Kinda pricey...$75 for what you see below...no drinks.
Ordered the Mason Burger, the Chicken Waffles, and the grilled cornbread. The cornbread and accompaniments (jam and honey butter) were delicious. The mason burger was pretty good, however it was a bit overcooked and I was never asked by the server how I wanted it cooked. The chicken waffles were very tasty. The portion sizes were perfect and the prices were reasonable for the area.
My southern genius friends! It was an incredible meal, drinks and desserts. My biggest thing was what to order because everything on the menu saw mouth water delicious. It was my son's birthday, so of course we had to go to Toast. First we ordered drinks that he drank a peach, and I got a mango (just forget the names). My was listed in the menu). Lord in heaven, I knew I was spectacular for something because the drinks were phenomenal. My son went for the cat and I chose Alligator Tacos together with one side of Greens and Cornbread. Holy mouth! The food! The tacos were incredible. I wanted something else and gate was bigger! I already had catfish and tasted it. Unbelievable. The scratched greens in apple wood bacon and corn bread with maple butter really? Can I cut the butter out of the container! So delicious. On to dessert!!!! Please forgive me, we ordered 4, YES 4, pieces of these wonderful cake slices! The key cake cannot be compared with others I had in the keys myself! The blueberry was full when berries were kindness like the peach. The pancake was better than any other pancake I had in every restaurant. My aunt from the south knows pecan pie from an old family recipe returned by generations before corn syrup was used and that was very close to it. She would have been proud. The sign of a large restaurant is the menu and the less the choice of dishes, the better the food. The boss can concentrate on giving you the absolutely best gastronomic experience. Southern Kin is characterized by this. Thanks for a great meal for my son's birthday.
