As a dish, they offer vegan kittens, but these are made in animal grease and not vegan. This is very deceptive. The tomato soup without cream is vegan. They're offering a piece or six main dishes to chili soy carne, wok, full of au fella, seitan stew, curry with pineapple... You can choose between rice, fries, couscous or pasta. Since the fries in animal fat get baked, this isn't an option. About the pasta, I also had my doubts that this one would be vegan. I went for the wok with rice. This one was good, but not for going to a restaurant. As dessert, they offer soya ice cream or vegan tiramisu with red fruit. I chose the vegan tiramisu. I was very disappointed in this. It wasn't a tiramisu at all, it was raw cake. We were also very convinced that this one is just bought at the grocery store. For 7.50, I was sorry. The service was kind. It was crazy that we had to wait so long for us to eat while only 1/4 of the tables were full. It's a good place for vegetarians or vegans to eat with a bunch of meat eaters. But as a vegan, I won't be reserving here.
Replace the frying oil with vegetable oil so that the vegan croquettes are truly vegan, and the fries served with the vegan main dishes are also vegan. P.S.: Implement a better system to distinguish between classic vegan and non-vegan dishes, so that vegans do not accidentally receive the meat dish.
Many grandmother-style dishes made vegetarian/vegan. I had the seitan stew with fries. Absolutely delicious! When I asked for mayonnaise, the waiter even suggested using vegan mayonnaise. It's great to be able to eat with non-vegetarian/vegan family members. It may be a bit on the expensive side, but the taste definitely makes it worth it. Highly recommend!
Tonight we went to eat at Brasserie De Kolonie for the first time. Why? Because they also have quite a few #vegan dishes on their menu. In order: Duo of vegan croquettes with vegan mayonnaise. Seitan stew with fries. Vegan tiramisu. The only unfortunate compromise you have to make is that the croquettes and fries are fried in animal fat. Aside from that, we ate very deliciously!
