I even chose this place as my birthday breakfast back in April. I usually go to the location closer to me down in Los Angeles for dinner but I always come up here to the valley for breakfast because parking is easier and I like the design on the inside of this restaurant more than the Southern location. Same owners of John and Vinny’s plus chef Ludo both locations are a constant hit for me and it’s easily my favorite Croque Madame (a better version of the Monsieur) in all of LA or the valley. Service has always been quick and polite for me and the food quality has never fell short of great. I’ve tried all the seafood dinner options (Trout, Bass, Mussels) and really enjoy each of those. I know I love a place when I crave different dishes from their brunch and also dinner menu. It’s honestly in my top three favorite French restaurants in LA and I highly recommend to anyone for any occasion. I have been here many times and I plan to be back many times in the future.
Food is as good as advertised. Shared the steak tartare, marinated olives, and Big Mec. Each was excellent great flavors combined well. The sauces on the Big Mec are divine. It's definitely pricey, but great ad a splurge.
Probably the best French omelette I have ever had! The dessert panna cotta was pretty but definitely overpriced. The outdoor seating made me feel I was eating at a cheap restaurant though :
My friend and I wanted to try something new. He knew of this place from a buzzfeed video on YouTube. We definitely knew that we had to try the escargots. The host was very kind and welcoming. Our waiter, Jacob was professional and kind. I asked for a tea with little caffeine and when he told me they were out, he recommended another that would suit me and he was right. The burgundy escargots were delicious! I wished I tried it when I was in Paris, but Paris came to Sherman Oaks! We later had our second course of the skirt steak frites and a big mec burger. The steak was so filling, but my stomach remembered the delicious sauce and every bite that I didn 't know how I could est more. THE burger was amazing! It was so mouth-watering that as it went in my mouth, it was as if it melted once it touched my tongue. It reminded me of the scene from 'Field of Dreams ' when Doc changes from a young man to an old man. That is one of my favorite films and the burger has become one of my favorites too. Finally, the deserts of the chocolate mousse and souffle were exquisite. My friend and I finished so much of it that we had to walk it off. The experience of the restaurant is something I will have to do again with a date or special friend who enjoys the finer tastes of food.
Each plate brought a different element to the experience, we left with a full belly and happy faces. The staff was very helpful through out the night. I’ve heard this location has much more space than the other so that was a plus. No reservation and we ate during prime time Sunday dinner with no wait, room was full as well and they did not miss a beat service wise.Very impressed!
