Norway Store - Sheridan

Kitschy attraction for tourists, a beautiful selection of Norwegian/Swedish dishes. I wish they had Bixits. (Chocolate covered gram cracker type cookies. But for a pocket by Risengrøt.

This charming general store, established in 1848, has evolved into a gas station, restaurant, convenience store, and barber shop. I tried two breakfast sandwiches: one with bacon and the other with ham, and they were both delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of food available in the convenience store, which included items like escargot, frozen seafood, and a selection of meats and cheeses.

Absolutely fantastic shop! It may look unassuming from the outside, but once you step inside, you'll be amazed at how much there is. It's almost like a small grocery store – you'd probably call it a mini market. However, it offers much more than just candy, chips, and energy drinks. It's a truly unique gem in this little Illinois town.

Great staff. Love her meat, they have exotic meats here like kangaroo and buffalo. I have my goose for Christmas dinner and Quail for Christmas Eve. And they can order the meat you're looking for when they don't have it. Definitely go back, and if I still lived in Dalzell, I would still make the trip here to get what I want.
