Vine Street Cafe - SHELTER ISLAND

I have actually been eating here since they opened. South fork resident for 40 years . And SI visitor in my youth. I was a bit shocked at 19 kids chicken fingers ‘and 44 for a bowl of Bolognese. We all split something but still thought a little . However fabulous food and services and great ice cream for kids!!

Service was abominable. Very slow took 2 hrs for 2. Courses. Didn’t stay for dessert.

Overall the food was good but nothing to write home about. Pricey too. I was not impressed. I had the rigatoni bolognese since I saw many reviews about it. It was good but not great. The arugula and beet salad was nice and my husband enjoyed the spicy tuna tacos to start.

Food was excellent but pricey, on par with other Hamptons restaurants. The relaxed but professional service was excellent. The pace of the meal was perfect and we were never rushed. I should have requested an outside table but we’ll save that for the next visit

Time and time again vine street has proven to be the best of the best. The food never disappoints as each dish is consistently amazing, especially their infamous calamari salad and their newest dish the pork chop. Their cocktails are not only delicious but prepared absolutely beautifully, specifically their evening in Paris. And the service is always phenomenal, a big thanks to our last nights server Lyng as she was attentive, well educated and very sweet. Will definitely be back soon!
