Yes! Soooo VERY glad that this facility no longer allows smoking! Their Halibut fish and chips were wonderfully made light, crispy dough... something we are looking for in deep fried halibut. We recommend the fish and chips here. We'll include them in our list of the best we had. Side salad with homemade Ranch Dressing was delicious and fresh. We're coming back!

Best fish and chips in Seward, hands down. Light batter, perfectly cooked. It's a funky old-time bar, and the down side is they allow smoking. We got takeout and sat in the park looking at the bay.

Good stuff. Since 2006 been going to this place for Halibut. Aka its Bucket of But Really good stuff. They bring a bowl full of good halibut chunks not overly battered and fried just right. The beer selection is limited, but if you desire good halibut fried this is the place. The large bucket is 28 for 14 pieces and the small is 24 for 10 pieces. The pieces are of good size. It is much more quantity then when buying two plates at another place to take the price shock away.

Interesting atmosphere, excellent food. Thorn's is dimly lit, with red fake-leather chairs and has vintage bottles lining the wall. Not the typical place you would expect for great food, but it is. In all of my travels/eating, I must say that Thorn's, hands-down, has THE BEST fried halibut in the entire state. Great fries, rings, etc. too. I've never tried their steaks, but they look great too.

Server was more interested in chatting with the locals. A/C unit was blasting so loud on a cold day I couldn't hear myself think.Food was just ok and overpriced for what we got. Dinner for 2 (shared bucket of butts, dinner salad, cup of soup and side of tots, no drinks) $70.
