Texas Mead Works - Seguin

The staff was incredibly friendly, and the medallions were fantastic.

When I travel outside a city and have some time before reaching my destination, I often seek out a winery; the peace of the countryside and the beautiful surroundings create a refreshing atmosphere. Texas Mead Works and Blue Lotus Winery is a charming little spot located on the outskirts of Seguin. During a trip from San Marcos to San Antonio, we stumbled upon it and decided to try a mead sampler. What they offer here, they do exceptionally well. For $15, we enjoyed a tasting of five meads, guided by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. The selections included: Lucky Monk (a traditional style with a sweet profile), Pfirsich (a delightful, fruity sip), Skyberry (an incredible depth of berry aroma), and Huckleberry Spice (bold and intriguing, with a delightful kick).

We had an amazing time at this place! The medallion dish was fantastic, and the service was even better. Maria Todd was our server, and she was incredible with her humor and mead recommendations! We absolutely loved it!

Mead is my drink of choice and it was hard to find good medaille in Texas. this place has really amazing medaille and a great variety. to go back!

Fascinating place! Learning about mead was the most interesting part of this trip! I will return every time I'm in the area. Of course I took home a bottle of strawberry and Atlas!
