When we arrived she had just slid into one of the drainage channels on the other side of Glastonbury. It was a scary moment, she is nearly 70 years old and had become totally submerged. We had to drag her out and she was absolutely soaked and covered in sludge. The thing that kept her going was the fact that we were aiming for Sweets and may find help there. When we arrived, you were amazing and let her use a hot shower, with toiletries and a towel. On behalf of our club, Wincanton Wheelers, we can't thank you enough...….. BTW, she did carry on and complete the full 100 miles (she said afterwards that if it hadn't been for the shower, bacon roll and latte she probably would've stopped). With thanks and love, Fran, Debi, Julia, Paul, Russ and Richard xx
Charmingly rustic and unpretentious, has never let us down yet. Food is always good, and it’s licenced if you fancy a glass of wine or two!
It’s really disappointing that Sweets were unable to provide a single Gluten Free cake. Out of the 9 on display there was nothing for me to have with my tea. So basically if you are a Gluten Free person and you want cake, find somewhere else. On the upside, the tea was nice!
This place is fantastic! The coffee and service are both excellent. I really enjoy coming here - there's no pretension, just a wonderful experience. Thank you, guys!
I have visited this restaurant many times because the cake and meals are always great. However, during my last visit, I was disappointed to find out that they are now charging an extra 65p per slice of cake to sit outside, and we had to carry it out ourselves. We travel a long way to this restaurant because it is an interesting place, but unfortunately, we will not be returning. It seems like they are just trying to rip off customers, which may explain why there were so few people there. It's a shame.
