Every time I walk by here on the ave, there are very few people inside. Now I know why. The food was... meh. There was no ventilation or AC (in a hot pot place, no less! , and the waitress was extremely inattentive. I basically ended up refilling the pitcher on my own just so we could have enough water to drink. The sauces also look like they had been sitting there for weeks, given their lack of patronage. I've been to other tasty pots before, and I thought it was decent. This location, however, was far below expectations.
NOT RECOMMENDED. I ordered #1 beef, popcorn chicken, extra noodles and fish. Beef taste very old, I couldn 't even eat the meat. I have been to many tasty pot all over California and this is the worst ever. When in California, I go to tasty every other day so I know how it taste. I was happy to find a tasty pot in Seattle but never again here. I 'll stick to California 's tasty pot. Customer service very very bad here. The only thing the server said was scan QR code and order never heard from her again except when bringing my order. She doesn 't come and check on you or anything. There was only 1 other person there. Usually when I go into a Tasty Pot there 's at least 10 other people there. I thought maybe it 's slow day, but after tasting the food and experiencing the service, no wonder no one 's there. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Who eats a lot of hotpot will necessarily compare this place with Boiling Point. Here I will try to give an honest comparison between the two. We ordered seafood lobster hotpot, and Taiwanese style stinky tofu hotpot. The aromas are good, but the part of the meat is quite small. Compared to Boiling Point, Tasty Pot give you less meat, despite more expensive. Both places offer a decent selection of flavors that you like more, is just a question of personal taste. The pan stove at the Tasty Pot has a built-in switch to turn off the fire. At Boiling Point you need to ask a waiter to do what is less convenient. The service at the Tasty Pot left much to be desired. If we need something, we have to go to the reception to ask for it. The waitress never comes by to give you personal attention. The Hummer Hotpot is a unique taste that you can only get at Tasty Pot, not Boiling Point.
Order from a QR code, add to your order through the meal if needed, pay when you’re finished. I got the beef pot with fried tofu, vermicelli, and a complimentary tea. The food was tasty, place was clean, and service was good. Whatever spice level you choose, you can increase the heat with the delicious chili oil at the table. It’s super good quality. I would recommend this to friends, but these “single serve” meals are more fit for two. If you were to make one order, have two sides of rice or vermicelli, and maybe add a few other sides, the price is much more reasonable and it’s more than plenty for two. Having just paid for the soup and tofu side for myself, my order was about $26. Another plus, the occluder for the flame is with the burner so you can put it out yourself, rather than waiting for a server to come around.
