It took a fair bit to be greeted by a greater, but once seated, things progressed as expected_I had a club wrap with a ceasar salad.
Lesson learned: do not judge a restaurant by its gorgeous outside menu.__My family and i travelled to stratford to attend the annual swan parade.
The restaurant was charming and the staff was friendly, however, the food and drinks were subpar and excessively expensive. I left feeling like I had wasted $20.
I had read positive reviews of The Pulp and was happy to give it a try while visiting Stratford as my partner and I are vegan. We ordered the cauliflower buffalo tacos and the spicy peanut tofu tacos. Food came presented on a nice plate. Unfortunately, very little effort seems to have gone into making the tacos. The tortilla shells tasted stale and each one broke upon lifting it up letting all the food fall out. Simply steaming or warming them would have made them more pliable and edible. The cauliflower seemed only to have been steamed and then covered in a mild buffalo sauce which was served with corn kernels and cabbage. The corm seemed straight from the can. No effort to pan fry or toast them up to bring out the great flavour of the corn. Normally, in my experience, a buffalo cauliflower would be breaded and baked or quickly deep fried. Not this, just plain, steamed (I think) and a sauce. The sauce was very mediocre in taste. The spicy peanut was not spicy at all. The tofu was slightly marinated, but not much flavour or texture. These were simple dishes that could burst with flavour without too much effort. I've made similar at home with ease. Honestly, if I wasn't over hungry from a day of driving and walking around, I would not have eaten it and unfortunately, we paid upfront when we ordered. We did not try the smoothies, but they have a good selection.
