Came over this Italian restaurant in schüpfheim randomly on the way to cursehli sorenberg and quite a sound. nice fresh food, a great reception of the owner who is from the south italian and desires to use his English and for the Swiss...not to break the bank. great place to stop before or after a walk in the UNESCO Biosphere National Park area....big mountain views and beautiful walks. next time will try a few pasta, the pizza was great
Came across this Italian restaurant in Schüpfheim by chance on the way to fluhli / sorenberg and quite a find. Lovely fresh food, a great welcome by the owner who is from the south of Italy and keen to use his English and for Switzerland didn't break the bank. Great place to stop prior or after a walk in the UNESCO biosphere national park area.....great mountain views and lovely walks. Will be back to try some pasta next time, the pizza was great
Just had a great meal in Pizzeria Cavallino, having driven up from Sorenburg where nearly everything was shut, summer having ended at the weekend. We were recommended this place by the owner of our holiday let. He wasn't wrong. For a Tuesday night the restaurant was reasonably busy with locals, which was encouraging. We were made to feel very welcome by a charming and helpful waiter, who spoke excellent English. As well as the ubiquitous pizza , the menu had a wide range of pasta and other Italian dishes. We ordered a variety of pasta dishes, all of which were excellent, freshly cooked and served piping hot. We followed those up with some nice (and enormous) desserts. The range was mainly gelato, but tiramisu & zabaglione also featured. 4x mains, drinks plus 3 desserts came to about Fr125 including tip, which is reasonable for Switzerland. We left feeling well-fed and happy.
Wonderful homemade Italian specialties combined with classic italo men's service and finally the perfect espresso. bravo :)
