Our server was attentive, but we were repeatedly asked what we wanted to drink, even though we only requested water. This became uncomfortable, prompting me to order a mango lassi in hopes of ending the questioning, but it didn't help. Others in our group who opted for water continued to receive similar inquiries, even after we had finished our entrees and cleared our plates. The mango lassi tasted off and was served warm, despite being accompanied by melting ice. We decided to order a few dishes to share family-style. While I enjoyed the garlic naan—anything with that much garlic is a win for me—most of the entrees were flavorful but underseasoned; they lacked salt. The chicken biryani portion was generous, but the curry dishes were heavy on sauce and light on protein. Once our food arrived, we were inundated with flies and other small bugs, which completely dampened my appetite. Overall, my experience was disappointing, but I acknowledge that others may have a different experience.
I visited Gaylord for the first time the other night, and I had a wonderful experience! Our server was incredibly kind and attentive throughout our meal. We kicked things off with some vegetarian samosas for the table, which were delicious and well-received by everyone. For my main course, I ordered the paneer makhani, and it was fantastic—I would definitely order it again. However, considering how good everything was, I might try something different on my next visit. We didn't have dessert, as we were all too full from our main courses, but we left feeling very satisfied and happy with our experience. I highly recommend Gaylord to anyone who enjoys Indian food or wants to try it for the first time. Thank you, Gaylord, for a delightful first experience! I can't wait to come back!
On the positive side, the assorted appetizer was crunchy and included a nice mix of fried spinach and potato. I found the lamb skewers and garlic naan to be the standout dishes. Additionally, the restaurant provided free rice, which was a nice touch.
I dined here this past New Year's Day since I was craving Indian food and also because of the very enticing email Gaylord sent me about their New Year's Day Lunch Buffet! (I'm on their email list and also follow them on Facebook and Instagram ! Anyway, I was SO glad and grateful they were open on New Year's Day, since NO OTHER Indian restaurants were! (BOOOOO!!! The buffet was great fresh, hot and so very hearty and comforting on that very dreary, rainy day! The servers were very attentive and pleasant (as they've always been since the 1990s, which is when I first dined with them ! The inside was clean (including the washroom just as it's always been too! They could use some updating of the interior design, but oh well, one miracle at a time I'm just grateful they made it through that ridiculous pandemic!!!
First time here for their lunch buffet, and we were pleasantly pleased be with the selection. Upon entry, we were greeted by friendly staff. Once they showed us to a table, they explained that fresh naan will be served shortly. Meanwhile, we went to the buffet table. If you wanted to experience a variety of Indian food, here's one for you. There were a range of foods from samosa (I liked that it was a mini one), assortment of curry, dal, chicken tandoori, fried fish, puri, and assortment of sauces. Don't forget about desserts. I also order masala chai to go with my desserts. Make sure to check their lunch buffet hours. We were at the lunch buffet on a Friday.
